We are a privately owned and operated social network with a goal of providing comfortable, pleasant and enjoyable chat opportunities for each of our members at no cost, and our system is fully accessible to blind and visually impaired individuals using screen readers.

While Out Of The Dark was initially created with non-visual users in mind, it is a social networking community which is built and setup for the primary reason of providing a place where both non-visual and visual people may mingle, coming together on a regular basis to socialize. We regularly provide games, described Movies and described TV shows, as well as informal, yet sometimes very stimulating conversation.

Out of the Dark's owners like to think of our members as an extended family who offer support and assistance to each other whenever needed, sharing both the good times and the bad, while also sharing information, knowledge, and fun.

In addition to audio and text chat, Out Of The Dark offers you the opportunity to join us for several different activities such as nightly games including various types of trivia, word games and other human based interactive games, in addition to several computer based interactive games on line. We also will be streaming described movies, and TV from our large collection of over 1000 files, and graphic audio from over 2500 files. In addition we hope to be hosting karaoke, and other live performance events before long.
