Welcome. We're very happy you decided to come in Out Of The Dark where everybody's light can shine. We are a privately owned and operated audio chat site with the goal of providing a home on the web where our users can enjoy themselves while feeling comfortable and safe at all times. With this in mind, please read and adhere to the site policies given below.

Please remember that Out Of The Dark may exercise its right to inact revocation of membership or suspension of privileges for violation of any of the below mentioned policies, or for any other reason in which such action is deemed to be justified by Out Of The Dark Management.
Site Policies
Profanity
Membership on Out Of The Dark is open to all those above 16 years of age. Please recognize and remember that all rooms on this site are rated PG unless designated otherwise. Mild profanity will be considered acceptable in all PG rated rooms.
However, excessive profanity, obscenity or sexually explicit activities or language in any form is unacceptable.
Please be aware that we are not the U. S. Supreme Court. The Out Of The Dark management team has know problem whatsoever in defining profanity or obscenity, or the meaning of excessive. and in fact, profanity, obscenity, and the level of either will be defined exclusively by Out Of The Dark management on a case by case basis.
Minors
Please remember that Out Of The Dark is a PG rated site, and that Our membership may include minors.
neither Out Of The Dark , its subsidiaries or associates will be responsible for persons under the age of 18 being present during any activity which might take place on the Out Of The Dark chat system.
PG stands for PARENTAL guidance. The actions of a minor are the sole responsibility of their parent or gardian, and Out Of The Dark will in no way act to control or restrict attendance by persons due to their age other than requiring aminimum age of 16.
Other Prohibitions
Abuse
Abuse of any type whatsoever, while on the Out Of The Dark chat site will meet with a zero tolerance.
Abuse may include but, not be limited to; harrassment of any type including sexual harrassment, on line stalking, slander, defimation of character, threats made or implied upon any person or group of people, spamming in chat rooms, rudeness, or any other type of abuse, verbal or otherwise.
In addition habitual trouble making or any other action which might infringe upon the rights of other Out Of The Dark users will not be tolerated.

If you are a victim of any form of abuse while on Out Of The Dark please notify us via our contact link found on the sites main page.
Your complaint will meet with immediate response from The Out Of The Dark management Team, and after an investigation by our staff measures will be taken to resolve the situation.
Illegal Activities
Absolutely no activity which would be considered in conflict with the laws of the state of Texas, or those of the United States of America will in any way be condoned or tolerated on the Out Of The Dark chat system.
Participation
If a user fails to respond to a welcome, or if they fail to respond at any time to subsequent attempts to interact they may be booted from the room after a reasonable amount of time. "A reasonable amount of time" is a relative term, and is relative to the situation. In some cases 2 minutes could exceed a reasonable amount of time, while in other situations 30 minutes may not.
Please help us by logging out of a room when you are going to be away from your keyboard for an extended period of time. This will not only be the polite thing to do, it will also conserve valuable bandwidth, and it could help keep you from getting the boot.
In addition, Out Of The Dark is an audio chat or voice chat system. Microphones are required on our site, and at any time an Out Of The Dark staff member could request that you speak audiblyover your microphone. Failure to do so upon request could result in being booted, suspension of privileges or in extreme cases such as chronic abuse of this policy, revocation of membership.
NOTICE
Please keep in mind that both this community, and our software promotes and encourages use by the visually impaired. Visually impaired users use screen readers in order to utilize our software.
These screen reader functions are limited in their range of maximum volume. As users of this site you will be required to keep any audio output produced by your system below the screen reader's audio level. If a moderator or site administrator ask you to turn your audio down, you must comply. A User whose audio is too high will be asked to lower their volume up to 3 times, after which more severe action may be taken to control the problem.
in addition, on the other end of the spectrum a users volume could be too low for some other members to hear. If this should occur that user may be asked to adjust their volume to a comfortable level for everybody as many as 3 times, after which more severe action may be taken to control the problem.
Chronic abuse of either of these policy could result in temporary suspension of site privileges or revocation of membership.
